Traveling with baby on vacation
Initially, I thought that it would be really very difficult to travel with my son. Fortunately, I was wrong. As long as you are ready to travel with your baby’s needs, you can have a great time on vacation with your baby. Read on for some personal experiences and tips on how to get the most out of your next vacation with a baby.
I remember when I used to go for my trip, I used to carry one large backpack and my handbag. But now I have to carry same amount for myself as well as for my son with big diaper bag, baby clothes, a bag for baby toys, food, car seat and a baby front pack. It is very important to bring all right things for your baby while going for a vacation.
Always remember when you are traveling in car or taking taxi, it is very essential to carry your infant car seats, do not depend on carrying your baby on it regularly as car seats are very heavy. Personally, I had the best time with a baby front pack which left my son’s hand and legs free.
Your baby already knows how daily supply options look, like food, clothing change, diaper. You need to remember one most important thing when you are traveling, you need to be prepared well in advance for the possibility of your baby would get cold, fever, start teething.
Some more important information is you should always carry a wide variety of clothes, food and diaper for weather condition or possible delay. If you are traveling with your baby by train, remember to carry extra basics which would help you stuck for longer or in case the train gets delayed.
I would like to advice you, if you want to have fun with your baby while traveling, then always keep in mind to let your baby set the pace. I remember when I last traveled with my son, I made sure to keep the schedule slow and steady. A whole all day event like a trip to a zoo or aquarium should be followed by a day when you try to do as little as possible to let your baby rest. Babies are scheduled with their daily and regular routines, so I would advice you keep their bed time, nap time, and food schedule routines as normal as possible throughout your trip. If your baby has trouble with restaurants, don’t try to eat out every day. Eat in the room at the hotel, order takeout, get fast food, or cook if possible. You and your infant will have more fun if you aren’t spending the whole trip trying to force them to behave.
