There is no such sight in this world which can equal the love as well as purity when a mother holds her baby. Massaging as well as playing with the baby is the most wonderful gesture of love and bonding between mother and her baby. Massaging also brings numerous health benefits which catalyze digestion and help in relaxation.
To know that we as parent may have so much power in the loving touch of our own hand leaves me completely awestruck. I read this quote in a book and I really liked it. It says “Touch cannot be considered an ‘add on’ or a luxury, something one ‘spoils’ a child with. Touch is necessary, just like the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the sunshine that nourishes us.”
When you are massaging your baby you need to keep in mind some important tips. You need to choose an appropriate time for the massage,it can be when your baby is relaxed and calm like half an hour after the baby has eaten. You need to make sure that the room is comfortable, warm and keep nappy or soft towel handy. Always use natural massage oil which is made of high class, cold pressed, natural vegetable and fruit oils. This oil serves as an emollient that will help your baby to soothe down as well as moisturize the delicate skin of your baby. After massage keep your baby free for fifteen to thirty minutes and allow baby to play. After massage baby will become very slippery, so be very careful when picking them up afterwards. Do not massage baby if they have a temperature and if you notice baby has a nut allergic reaction, use an oil that is free from nut products.
